Our vision

Cumbernauld Trinity’s mission is to be a sign of hope, a place of grace, and a force for good, with a commitment to love and serve the Cumbernauld community and beyond. Through prayer and pastoral care, in its practical support for local people facing poverty, and by supporting the Scottish Bible Society, Christian Aid and overseas Mission Partners, Cumbernauld Trinity is seeking to live out the Good News of Jesus Christ and make Him known.

But there is so much more still to be done…

We are a newly formed Christian community which is entering a new season of sharing the joy of God’s love, blending the best of its former traditions whilst listening for the guiding voice of the Holy Spirit in response to the needs of today and tomorrow. We seek to worship God as an open, inclusive, and welcoming community of faith, a lighthouse of hope reflecting the grace which we have received ourselves.

At a series of congregational meetings in early 2025 the following thoughts were expressed:

WHO WE ARE

Worship is at the heart of who we are.
Our fellowship is growing.
We are a Church family, everyone is involved.
Everything we do is grounded in our core belief.
We are open, we try to be – we must make an effort.
We have an ecumenical vision.
We will have lively vibrant worship.
We will be active in the community.
We are here!

WHERE WE ARE GOING

We know we will have to make changes.
There was always an affinity between us 3 churches.
We need (speak up) to ask people to do things to help.
Seeds are planted for a new combined church but the shoots have yet to show.
Some folk do not like change.
Change is hard (and slow) we are all going to feel change.
We were open to exploring and modernising.

WHO IS ON THE JOURNEY

We must be good for a younger generation.
Young people are needed for passion, planning and energy.
(Young person “I want to be an elder?”).

WHAT DO WE WANT TO SHARE

People have to know we are here.
We can use social media and marketing.
We still have elder areas for the purposes of visiting.
Mission does not have to be inside church – we can do things outside church.
We can showcase our church through outreach.
Better design can play a part.
We have a wish, a desire, to share what we have.
