Life events
At Cumbernauld Trinity we have two impressive venues: the Village Church and St Mungo’s Hub. Both have much to offer. Because of its age the Village Church cannot offer the same level of accessibility as the more recently built St Mungo’s Hub, but it does have some accessible features. Do get in contact, we will be happy to discuss your needs,
Weddings at Cumbernauld Trinity
At Cumbernauld Trinity a marriage ceremony can be held in the Village church or St Mungo’s Hub, as agreed upon by the couple and the officiating minister.
The Village Church is a lovely place to hold a wedding. It seats up to 120. Organ music is a feature of its wedding service. As it is an ancient church it lacks some of the amenities we expect from modern venues.
St Mungo’s Hub has a number of spaces suitable for a wedding. The modernist Sanctuary is particularly impressive with a soaring woodlined roof. It seats up to 800+.
Setting a date
The date and time of your wedding should be made in consultation with the minister. The minister may want to spend some time with you helping you prepare for married life prior to the ceremony. They will be happy to discuss any questions you have and any particular requests you would like to make, for example, they can help you choose music and readings that are special to you.
Rehearsal
A wedding rehearsal should be arranged with the minister a short time before the wedding. As many of the wedding party should attend the rehearsal as possible : bride and groom plus best man, bridesmaid(s), flower girls, page boys, and whoever is giving the bride away.
Flowers
You are invited to place your own flowers in the church for the wedding service. Unless specifically arranged to the contrary, flowers should remain in the church for the Sunday services at the close of which the minister will arrange for them to be distributed to housebound or elderly people of the congregation and to those in hospital. Arrangements should be made with the minister to ensure that the church is open for the flowers to be delivered and arranged.
Photography/Video
No flash photography is allowed during the service. Audio and video recordings are allowed and the minister will be happy to discuss this with you.

Baptism
Baptism is one of the two sacraments recognised by the Church of Scotland, the other being the Sacrament of Holy Communion. When a child is baptised, parents (or other close family members) are asked to confess their own Christian faith and promise to bring their child up in that faith and in the life and worship of the church. The church expects at least one of the parents (or close family member) to be a member of the church or willing to become a member.
When the person being baptised is an adult then they make the appropriate promises.
Baptisms are performed during Sunday worship. During the service, adults profess their faith and promise to raise the child in the Christian faith. Please contact the minister to discuss the service and arrange a date.
If you are interested in having your child baptised, please come to a Sunday service and speak our minister at the close of the service and they will be glad to help you.
There are no fees for baptism.
Funerals and Services of remembrance
